(cast) La ecología industrial es uno de los ámbitos que abarca la economía circular, y que entiende los sistemas industriales de forma análoga a los naturales. Uno de sus instrumentos es la simbiosis industrial, que pretende trasladar al mundo empresarial el funcionamiento de los ecosistemas naturales.
En un entorno en el que se percibe un cierto agotamiento del actual modelo de producción y consumo y, en el cual se ha experimentado una creciente preocupación por los impactos medioambientales derivados de proseguir con tal patrón, la economía circular está ganando terreno, presentándose como un modelo alternativo en el que crecimiento económico y protección del medio ambiente se dan de forma simultánea.
En este contexto, se analizan las iniciativas de simbiosis industrial puestas en funcionamiento en algunos polígonos industriales de la provincia de Barcelona, con el objetivo de mejorar la eficiencia en el uso de los recursos, a partir del aprovechamiento de la energía y residuos generados.
(eng) Industrial ecology is one of the fields covered by the circular economy and draws an analogy between the industrial systems and the natural systems. One of its instruments is the industrial symbiosis, which expects that business world mimics the functioning of natural ecosystems. In an environment where certain degree of exhaustion of the currently production and consumption model is perceived, as well as an increasing concern about environmental impacts derived from this has been experimented, the circular economy is gaining ground as an alternative model in which economic growth and environmental protection are possible at the same time. In this context, industrial symbiosis initiatives are carrying out in some industrial park of the Barcelona province are analysed in order to improve the efficiency in the use of resources by means of the recirculation of energy and waste.
