[cat] Aquesta tesi és el resultat de la investigació teòrico-pràctica sobre els polímers aplicats a l’escultura. El treball s’introdueix amb els fonaments químics i físics de les propietats del plàstic, segueix amb una introducció sobre els orígens i el desenvolupament dels diversos tipus de plàstic i se centra en el seu ús com a material escultòric, des dels primers usos fins a l’actualitat. Es classifiquen els diversos tipus de plàstic per famílies, comprovant les seves propietats escultòriques, i es tracten temes com ara ecosistema, reciclatge, innovació, ús en grans volums tridimensionals, escultures inflables, durabilitat, restauració, taxidèrmia, processos industrials i distribució. En el decurs de la investigació s’ha seguit el procés creatiu escultòric aplegant experiències i coneixements sobre el particular, juntament amb entrevistes que s’han abordat des d’una perspectiva multidisciplinar.
[eng] This Thesis is an outcome of theoretical research and practice about sculpture made of plastics. Starting with the introduction of chemical and physical properties of plastic materials, followed by its historical impact and the effects on the sculpture discipline until its current application. Catalogued by families, checking sculptural properties, and expanding the effects of the material on the ecosystem, recycling, innovation, high-volume three-dimensional, inflatable, durability, restoration, taxidermy, industrial processes and distribution. Following the sculpture creative process binding experiences, knowledge and interviews in multidisciplinary areas.
