Abstract

(eng) This paper presents a vision of the problems that arise in Spain in the medium to long term to sustain the real pensions system due to the low fertility rates that occur and the increment of life expectancy in recent years. This paper focuses on the quantification of the impact of the different variables that affect the number of children that a woman decides to have with the purpose of the variables on which measures of political economy can be applied. The present study offers certain recommendations to correct the real fertility rate in Spain and achieve the generational replacement that provides sustainability in the pension system.
