La Singularitat Tecnològica

Abstract

(cat) La Singularitat Tecnològica és un esdeveniment hipotètic caracteritzat per la fusió de l’ésser humà amb la tecnologia en un context de desenvolupament tècnic exponencial. L’esdeveniment comportaria l’emergència i difusió d’un conjunt tant gran de tecnologies disruptives que la transformació social que se’n derivaria no tindria precedents en cap altre moment de la història humana. Els efectes positius, com la longevitat indefinida, la cura de totes les malalties i el desenvolupament cognitiu d’un ésser humà millorat en tots els aspectes són comparables als riscos i problemàtiques associades a una societat tecnològica on els robots, les màquines i les intel•ligències artificials adopten un paper de lideratge que deixa els éssers humans en una situació de vulnerabilitat que encara està per definir. I aquest és el major problema de la Singularitat: l’elevat grau d’incertesa que caracteritza un món habitat pels post-humans.

(eng) Technological Singularity is a hypothetical event characterized by the fusion of the humans with technology in a context of exponential technical development. This event would involve the appearance and spread of a set of disruptive technologies so huge that the social transformation derived would be unprecedented in any other time of human history. The positive effects like indefinite longevity, the cure for all diseases and the cognitive development of a human being improved in all respects, are comparable to the risks and problems related to a technological society where robots, machines and artificial intelligences play a leader roll leaving humans in a still undefined vulnerable situation. And that’s the biggest problem of Singularity: the high uncertainty that characterizes a world inhabited by the post-humans.
