Abstract
(cast) Tras el fin de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, Europa decidió avanzar por una senda de integración regional que llegó a su punto álgido en los 70. La entrada de nuevas regiones a la Unión Europea, y sobre todo la terrible Gran Recesión iniciada en el 2007, han marcado un nuevo panorama en el proceso de convergencia del continente.
La pretensión de esta investigación, es averiguar si dicho proceso se ha mantenido en el tiempo, o bien ha desaparecido o revertido como consecuencia de los acontecimientos mencionados. Debido al importante papel de las externalidades entre regiones sobre la convergencia, también buscará averiguar, si realmente estas existen
o son un mero concepto teórico, no aplicable a las economías europeas.
(eng) Since the World War II ends, Europe chose advance in the way of regional integration, which arrives to his highest level in the 70’s. The entrance of new regions to the European Union, and especially the terrible Great Recession started in 2007, have left a print on the new panorama of the Continent’s convergence process. The objective of this investigation is to find out if this process has been permanent through the years or well, it its disappeared or reverted because of the last events. Due to the important paper of regional externalities over convergence process, it also tries to discover if they really exist or are a simply theorical concept, not suitable to European economies.
