Abstract
In this project, different gold(I) benzimidazoles that contain naphthalimides as second ligand coordinated to the gold(I) metal atoms through alkynyl groups have been synthesized. All the products have been characterized with 1H NMR, IR spectroscopies and mass spectrometry.
The absorption, emission, and excitation spectra of the naphthalimide ligands have been recorded in order to check the luminescent properties of the compounds. Further studies will be performed with the gold complexes in order to have the whole information on this field
