Els Monestirs i l'afermament del poder comtal. El cas del Pallars i la Ribagorça (segles IX-X)

[cat] Aquest article ofereix una reflexió crítica sobre el paper que els monestirs altmedievals van tenir en la construcció i afermament del poder comtal al llarg dels segles ix i x. En concret, es fixa en el cas particular del Pallars i la Ribagorça, ja que, si bé no són els comtats catalans més ben documentats, permeten veure amb claredat el paisatge monàstic amb què es van trobar els primers comtes privatius d'aquells territoris, com el van transformar de manera activa i com se'n serviren per als seus objectius particulars. D'aquesta manera, permet demostrar que el patrocini de monestirs va constituir una peça clau del seu programa polític per construir-se una imatge de poder ferma, incrementar la seva influència sobre el territori i prendre una posició preponderant dins de les xarxes que articulaven la societat local.

[eng] This article offers a critical reflection on the role that early medieval monasteries played in making up and strengthening Comital Power throughout the 9th and 10th centuries. Specifically, it focuses on the particular case of Pallars and Ribagorça, since, although they are not the best documented Catalan counties, they allow us to see clearly the monastic landscape with which the first counts of those territories found themselves, how they actively transformed it and how they used it for their own goals. In this way, it shows that the patronage of monasteries was a key part of their political program to build a strong image of their power, increase their influence on the territory and take a leading position in the networks that interconnected and ran local society.
