This project takes place in the gamification context, following the project “KukuiCupBCN: Gamification in Smartgrid context”. Specifically, design and implementation of a mobile application that integrates gamification concepts oriented to the awareness of using energetic resources. Using this application, students
participate in an energetic tournament named KukuiCupBCN. The application name refers to the original Kukui Cup tournament, which is a project that takes place in the University of Hawaii and in which the idea of this project is based and, consequently, also this project.
Participation in this tournament allows the children acquire knowledge related to energy use and a greater awareness about using efficiently those resources. By means of using gamification concepts, we aim to influence children's behavior to achieve better responsible energy consumption habits.
This project aims to continue the development of KukuiCupBCN application, starting with a redesign of the previous application, bug fixing, application internationalization and multi device implementation for both Android smartphones and tablets.
