dc.description.abstractRecent experiments show a relation between cell’s shape and collective motion in confluent monolayers. Collective motion can cause structural changes in biological tissues that can be rationalized within the framework of Voronoi models. Using Monte Carlo method, we have studied the equilibrium properties of the model using as control parameters the typical cell elongation and the intensity of the noise. We have studied the dynamical and structural changes in the tissues, which has let us explore the phase diagram around the solid-to-liquid transitionca
