Recepció de l’obra de Nawāl al-Saˁdāwī a Occident i a Espanya

Abstract

Les polítiques de localització influeixen en l’edició i posterior publicació de les obres estrangeres traduïdes. Aquest treball pretén analitzar quina ha sigut la recepció de la doctora i escriptora egípcia Nawāl al-Saˁdāwī i de les seves obres als Estats Units, Anglaterra i Espanya per veure quin paper hi han jugat les polítiques de localització. Seguint el recorregut de l’autora des dels seus inicis a Egipte fins al moment en què les seves obres apareixen en el mercat editorial internacional. L’explicació d’aquest recorregut està precedida d’una contextualització històrica i cultural, així com del moviment feminista egipci.

The politics of location influence editing and the subsequent publication of translated foreign works. This dissertation aims to analyse the reception of the Egyptian doctor and writer Nawāl al-Saˁdāwī and her works in the United States, England, and Spain, and to see what role localisation policies have played. I will write about the author's journey from her early years in Egypt to the moment when her works appeared on the international publishing market. The explanation of this journey is preceded by a historical and cultural contextualisation, as well as an introduction to the Egyptian feminist movement.
