dc.description.abstractElastic collisions of charged particles with atoms are studied by using the classical and quantum theories for the scattering of particles in central potentials. A simple calculation scheme has been adopted and implemented in a Fortran program. Numerical results illustrate some characteristic features of the classical and quantum differential cross sections, and allow verifying the Bohr condition for the validity of the classical theory.eng
