[cat] Aquest article pretén fer una primera aproximació al tema de l'administració femenina als petits negocis de caràcter menestral al període de crisi d'aquest model de producció, de 1814 a 1860, quan els menestrals barcelonins van veure's dins una conjuntura sense precedents a la qual havien d'adaptar-se si no volien desaparèixer. En aquest context de transformació el paper de les dones va adquirir una importància insospitada. Encara que poc coneguda i numèricament reduïda, la gestió femenina va integrar-se dins les estratègies de supervivència artesana. No obstant això, els models de gestió femenins van ser diferents en cadascun dels oficis i estrats socioeconòmics menestrals. En general, s'aprecia que als oficis de l'alimentació, pertanyents al sector de béns de consum, les dones mantingueren i fins i tot milloraren la seva posició econòmica i la dels seus hereus. A l'altre gran sector productor de béns de consum, la confecció, les dones van provar diverses estratègies de naturalesa molt diferent, no sempre amb èxit. En canvi, als sectors dedicats als béns intermedis, com el del metall o la fusta, l'administració femenina va tendir a allunyar-se de la producció directa, bé que no sempre de l'ofici, i de vegades a diversificar-se cap a inversions no productives.
[eng] This article is a first attempt at looking into women's management of small artisan businesses during the crisis of this type of production, between 1814 and 1860, when the craftsmen of Barcelona had to adapt to an entirely new situation or else disappear. In this changing context, the role of women took on an unprecedented importance. Though still poorly known and certainly not very widespread, management by women came to play a part in artisans' survival strategies. It took, however, different forms according to the craft or the socioeconomic layer within the artisan sector. On the whole, in the food trades women preserved or even improved the family fortunes, while in the clothing trades, within the same consumer-goods sector, women tried a great variety of strategies, not always successfully. On the other hand, in the intermediate-goods sector, in the wood and the metal trades, women in management tended to move away from direct production, though not necessarily from the trade, and sometimes to diversify into non-productive investment.
