Abstract
Artificial Spin Ice systems have been used to investigate exotic behaviours of frustrated systems. In this project, I study geometric frustration through computer simulations of Artificial Colloidal Ice which is made of an ensemble of magnetized colloids confined in bistable traps and arranged to form a square lattice. By implementing an offset height between perpendicular traps, it is possible to recover a degenerate ground state in the system.
