Abstract
The present work focuses on the application of frequency domain electromagnetic induction methods (FDEM) to profile conductivities at Platja dels Gossos in Matar´o, aiming to study the potential of this technique. To do so, data was obtained using the CMD Mini Explorer, then processed and interpolated with Python programmes, inverted with the EMagPy software, and graphically represented with Surfer™ to further analyse it.
On the one hand, results indicate an intrusion of saltwater into the sand, disregarding, though, any contributions of underground fresh water. On the other, the FDEM technique has proven to be a useful and reliable tool for a first surveying of the ground, as it is quick, non-intrusive, economical and practical
