Abstract
This study aims to analyze the surface inducted electric fields resulting from 11 solar storms to create a potential risk map for future electrical infrastructures. The research employed a 3D electrical resistivity model of the Balearic Islands and a program based on spherical elementary current systems for magnetic field interpolation, due to the lack of observatories, correlating electric and magnetic fields using the magnetotelluric method. The study involved generating electric field maps and exploring the relationship between the electric field magnitude over the islands and solar activity. Outcomes revealed cases of abrupt electric field intensities for solar activity in certain locations across the Balearic Islands resulting in risks to electrical grids
