[spa] A lo largo de los últimos años, la Conservación-Restauración de los Bienes Culturales ha evolucionado en una disciplina técnica y compleja en la que, recuentemente, tareas tan básicas como la documentación, quedan relegadas a un segundo plano. Esta actividad, sin embargo, deviene uno de los pilares fundamentales en la preservación de la cultura material y en su eventual difusión. Con el propósito de vincular ambas funciones -documentación y difusión- y mostrar la repercusión que tienen estas labores en la conservación del patrimonio cultural, se aborda este estudio, que pretende analizar dichos conceptos en los museos de la Ciudad Condal, para comprender en qué estado se encuentran y cómo se podría mejorar el proceso documental, aparentemente tan sencillo, pero imprescindible en la elaboración de
cualquier plan de conservación preventiva.
[eng] Over the last few years, Conservation-Restoration of Cultural Heritage has evolved into a complex and technical discipline in which, frequently, basic tasks such as documentation are relegated to the background. This activity, however, becomes one of the fundamental pillars in the preservation of material culture and its eventual diffusion. The present study is addressed with the purpose of linking both functions -documentation and diffusion- and the impact that these tasks have on the conservation of cultural heritage, while analyzing these concepts in the museums of Barcelona, to understand in what state they are and how the documentary process could be improved, an apparently simple process, but essential in the elaboration of any preventive conservation plan.
