Abstract
The presence of Catalan students at the University of Bologna during the 13th century. Most of these students follow the teachings of the great masters and professors of Civil and Canonical Law. Most of them came from families of the lower nobility, as is the case of the prestigious Raymond of Penyafort and members of the Urtx-Mataplana family. Many of them occupied ecclesiastical positions, in Barcelona, Elne, Girona, Lleida, Urgell and Vic. They bought and sold manuscripts, and often deposited them as security for money lent. They formed a cohesive group with strong links of solidarity. There are many references to the prices and value of books.
