Abstract
[spa] En el presente trabajo abordamos el estudio de una pizarra visigoda, del siglo VII, proveniente de Santibáñez de la Sierra (Salamanca). La inscripción, pese a su estado lacunario, nos permite reconocer en ella un texto de tipo mágico‐religioso. El análisis de los principales elementos documentados en la inscripción, junto con la pertinente búsqueda de paralelos y el examen del contexto arqueológico ―casi inexistente―, nos permiten conjeturar que la pieza fue la obra de un laico con una formación intelectual básica, cristiano ―pese a que mantenía actitudes propias de paganos―, el cual elaboró la inscripción seguramente a fin de implorar a Dios piedad para el individuo sepultado en la tumba en la cual fue hallada esta pizarra.
[en] In the present work we approach the study of a Visigothic slate, from the 7th century, coming from Santibáñez de la Sierra (Salamanca). The inscription, despite its fragmentary state, allows us to recognize in it a magical‐religious text. The analysis of the main elements documented in the inscription, together with the pertinent search for parallels and the examination of the archaeological context ―almost nonexistent― allows us to conjecture that the piece was the work of a layman with a basic intellectual formation, Christian ―despite he maintained attitudes typical of pagans―, who elaborated the inscription surely in order to implore God to have mercy on the individual buried in the tomb in which this slate was found.
