L’assignació de gènere gramatical en una mostra de manlleus incorporats al català: un assaig de formalització en teoria de l’optimitat

[cat] L’assignació de gènere és el fenomen pel qual s’assigna gènere gramatical a una unitat lèxica. El gènere pot assignar-se d’acord amb la forma de la paraula, el significat de la paraula o una combinació de tots dos factors. En aquest treball, s’investiga l’assignació de gènere d’un grup de manlleus incorporats al català seguint els paràmetres de la teoria de l’assignació òptima del gènere (Optimal Gender Assignment Theory) proposada per Rice (2006) i considerant el debat sobre si la semàntica domina la forma en l’assignació de gènere o sobre si semàntica i forma hi tenen la mateixa incidència.

[eng] Gender assignment is the process by which speakers assign a gender feature to a lexical item. Gender is assigned based on the shape of the word, the meaning of the word or a combination of the two factors. In the present work, gender assignment is studied in a group of loanwords incorporated into Catalan within the tenets of the Optimal Gender Assignment Theory (Rice 2006). The discussion extents to the ranking of criteria: semantic criteria are ranked above formal citeria, or is there crucial equal ranking between both criteria?
