Abstract
[cat] En aquest treball s’analitzaran diverses variables referents als estudiants del grau de
Matemàtiques de la Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, incidint de forma rellevant en
l’efecte del sexe, ja que actualment existeix una preocupació general pel que fa a la
perspectiva de gènere en aquesta carrera. Concretament, s’estudiarà de què depèn el valor
de la nota final dels alumnes, la probabilitat d’aquests d’aprovar la fase inicial del grau i
com ha estat la seva evolució al llarg dels anys respecte a diverses dades, com per exemple
el nombre d’estudiants de cada sexe o el nombre d’aquests que aconsegueix superar la fase
inicial. A més a més, com ja s’ha dit, s’incidirà de forma rellevant en les diferències que
puguin existir entre sexes, és a dir, es pretén comprovar si realment existeixen discrepàncies
entre els nois i les noies en aquests estudis. Per a fer-ho s’aplicaran entre d’altres mètodes,
models lineals, models lineals generalitzats, tests estadístics per a la comparació de
proporcions i anàlisi de sèries temporals, mitjançant els programes R i Excel.
[eng] In this paper I will analyse several variables belonging to students of the Mathematics degree at the Technical University of Catalonia. For this purpose, data provided by the same institution are available. On the one hand, I will study which of the variables have an influence on the final mark of the students and on the probability that they will pass the initial phase of the degree, and on the other hand, I will also analyse how the students have evolved over the years with respect to various data, such as the number of students of each sex or the number of students who manage to pass the initial phase. In addition, the differences that may exist between the two sexes will be highlighted, in other words, the aim is to check whether there are really significant discrepancies from a statistical point of view between boys and girls in these studies and, more specifically, which areas of these studies are affected. In order to do so, among other methods, linear models, generalized linear models, statistical tests for the comparison of proportions and time series analysis will be applied with the help of the R and Excel programs.
