Resum

A semi-structured interview was used, from which the answers to two questions were analyzed: narrating a positive experience of care, and how this influenced the treatment. Through the narrative analysis of thematic content, were found (1) three themes of positive experiences were found: of affective bonding, social connection and opportunities to drive changes, and (2) four types of learning from stories: cultivating socio-emotional interaction, achieve instrumental goals, to be aware that the cared person is still a person, and personal influence. Sharing and identifying positive experiences can be useful to intervene in the performance of care, make visible the opportunities that this work represents, re-design theoretical models and to optimize working conditions of the care system.
