[spa]Desde la eclosión del movimiento ultra egipcio a inicios del siglo XXI, siguiendo la estela de sus homólogos tunecinos, las gradas de los estadios se erigieron en uno de los pocos espacios donde se podía criticar a las autoridades del país. Mediante las coreografías ideadas por los aficionados radicales organizados, los hinchas visibilizaron su malestar, tanto contra Mubarak como contra los militares. Pancartas, cánticos y banderones se convirtieron en el vehículo de expresión y protesta más eficaz. Sus canciones engrosaron la banda sonora de la revolución que en 2011 derrocó a Mubarak tras tres décadas ostentando la presidencia. Experimentados en los enfrentamientos con la policía, los ultras egipcios fueron la fuerza de choque que salvaguardó la revuelta. Posteriormente, mantuvieron el pulso a los militares. ¿Cómo se produjo el tránsito de hinchas despolitizados a garantes de la revolución? ¿por qué se implicaron los ultras egipcios en la Primavera árabe? Estas son las hipótesis a las que pretendemos dar respuesta en nuestro artículo.
[eng] Since the emergence of the ultra-Egyptian movement at the beginning of the 21st century, following in the footsteps of their Tunisian counterparts, the stadium stands have become one of the few places where the country's authorities could be criticised. By means of choreographies devised by organized radical fans, the fans made visible their malaise, both against Mubarak and against the military. Banners, chants and flags became the most effective vehicle of expression and protest. Their songs added to the soundtrack of the revolution that overthrew Mubarak in 2011 after three decades as president. Experienced in the confrontations with the police, the Egyptian ultras were the shock force that safeguarded the revolt. Subsequently, they maintained the pulse of the military. How did the transit of depoliticized supporters to guarantors of the revolution take place? Why were the Egyptians ultras involved in the Arab Spring? These are the hypotheses that we intend to answer in our article.
