[spa] En el mundo actual, la urbanización ha crecido rápidamente, y el desarrollo y la comodidad de las ciudades atraen cada vez a más personas a ellas, convirtiéndolas en una estructura ambiental con más de la mitad de los habitantes del mundo, pero detrás de esta prosperidad, también hay peligros. Cuando se reúnen en ellas grandes y diversas cantidades de personas, surgen todo tipo de conflictos y desigualdades, y
aumentan la delincuencia y la violencia, por lo que la gente tiene cada vez más miedo urbano. Y el impacto desigual que la sociedad patriarcal trajo a las mujeres sigue presente hoy en día, lo que les da más miedo en la ciudad y sus vidas están limitadas como resultado. Pero una buena ciudad debe ser aquella que permita a las personas vivir y disfrutar de sus derechos con seguridad y libertad en ella, no aquella cuyo uso de la ciudad se vea dificultado por el miedo. Esto requiere la integración de una perspectiva de género en el proceso de urbanismo para reducir el miedo urbano y crear un entorno seguro. Según los elementos necesarios de un entorno seguro de la organización feminista catalana Col-lectiu Punt 6, basados en los seis principios de
Montreal, este entorno debe ser señalizado, visible, vital, vigilado, equipado y comunitario.
[eng] In today's world, urbanization has grown rapidly, and the development and convenience of cities attract more and more people to them, making them an environmental structure with more than half of the world's inhabitants, but behind this prosperity, there are also dangers. When large and diverse numbers of people gather in them, all kinds of conflicts and inequalities arise, and crime and violence increase, making people increasingly afraid of cities. And the unequal impact that patriarchal society brought to women is still present today, which makes them more afraid in the city and their lives are limited as a result. But a good city should be one that allows people to live and enjoy their rights safely and freely in it, not one whose use of the city is hindered by fear. This requires the integration of a gender perspective into the urban planning process to reduce urban fear and create a safe environment. According to the necessary elements of a safe environment of the Catalan feminist organization Col-lectiu Punt 6, based on the six Montreal principles, this environment must be signposted, visible, vital, monitored, equipped and communal.
