The application of physics to social systems can help understand social interactions and decision-making. Using data from a public citizen science experiment on reactions to genderbased violence scenarios, we analyse participants’ response time and the decision type. Although we initially model them with a Poisson process, statistical tests and q-moment analysis show clear deviations from expected behaviour if all decisions were independent and if all individuals followed the same decision-making timing. This indicates that decisions in these situations are strongly influenced by social dynamics.
