dc.description.abstractNaI(Tl) detectors are frequently used in γ-ray spectrometry owing to their very high efficiencies. In this TFG we have performed a complete detector characterization by doing the energy, resolution and efficiency calibrations. Monte Carlo simulations were used to study the efficiency and to obtain full decay cascade spectra for various radionuclides, which were compared to the experimental data and were found to have good agreement.ca
