The aim of this work is to create a tool to calculate the electronic band structure of any type of crystal. Firstly, I will recover the band structure for the text-book models: the empty lattice model and the tightly bound electrons model, and then I will compute the band structure for a more realistic particular case of a body centered cubic crystal, trying to reproduce the electronic band structure of sodium. This program is developed with the free software Octave.
