[spa]El testamento de este obispo dumiense resulta interesante porque pone de manifiesto una de las principales tensiones del cristianismo en la época postconstantiniana: el dilema que se planteaba al obispo a la hora de elegir entre ser, ante todo, un buen cristiano o anteponer los intereses económicos del obispado. La legislación conciliar y civil conservada indica que, aunque la principal preocupación episcopal era la adecuada gestión de las propiedades eclesiásticas, tampoco se olvidaron de practicar la caridad -manifestada a través de las tareas asistenciales-. Asimismo, este documento resulta útil para conocer la situación de los dependientes eclesiásticos en la Hispania del s. VII.
[eng]The testament of this bishop of Dume is interesting because it shows one of the main Christian tensions in the post-constantinian times: the dilemma outlined to the bishops when choosing among being a good Christian or prefixing the economic interests of the bishopric. The ecclesiastical and civilian legislation indicates that, although the main concern of the bishops was the right administration of the ecclesiastical properties, they don"t forgot to practice the charity-through the assistance tasks-. Also, this document is useful to know the situation of the ecclesiastical serfs in the seventh century Hispania.
