Abstract

[en] This project consists of creating an interactive website where the user can evaluate a statistical chart using a set of heuristics to determine its accessibility. These heuristics were developed by Dr. Rubén Alcaraz and are focused on the accessibility of these charts for people with low vision. The web application replicates the heuristic evaluation process in the form of an interactive web page. It presents different options in a form and allows the user to rate the chart using these heuristics. The chart to be evaluated can be inputted either via URL or by uploading a file from the user's device. The form should also provide the user with the necessary information at each step to complete the evaluation, including information on what the heuristic is and an example of how to rate it. The obtained results can be stored by the user, either by downloading them in CSV format or by accessing them later if the evaluation process was performed while logged in. These results should indicate the degree of compliance with each heuristic and provide an overall score on a scale of 1 to 10 to determine if the chart is accessible or not. The web application also showcases the work done by Dr. Rubén Alcaraz, displaying some of his articles or information related to the heuristics. The project has been successfully completed, and the webpage, fulfilling all the objectives, is available at https://nereacuba.github.io/TFG/
