Abstract
[spa] Durante la primera década tres la finalización de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, los Estados Unidos creyeron firmemente que Europa Occidental podía reorgani- zarse política, económica y socialmente como una federación siguiendo el modelo norteamericano. A tal fin, estuvieron dispuestos a invertir el dinero necesario para hacerlo realidad. Si bien, un programa como el Plan Marshall es ampliamente co- nocido, no lo son tanto los dólares que se canalizaron a través de organizaciones que implicaban a la sociedad civil como el Movimiento Europeo. Organismos como el American Committee on United Europe (ACUE) fueron el puente entre los Estados Unidos y Europa para los dólares norteamericanos.

A tal fi, estigueren disposats a invertir els diners necessaris per fer-ho realitat. Si bé un programa com el Pla Marshall és prou conegut a nivell general, no ho és tant els diners que es canalitzaren a través d'organitzacions que implicaven a la societat civil com el Moviment Europeu. Organismes com el American Committee on United Europe (ACUE) feren de pont entre els Estats Units i Europa. per els dòlars nord-americans.
[eng] During the first decade after the end of World War II, the United States firmly believed that Western Europe could reorganize itself politically, economically, and socially as a federation following the American model. To that end, they were willing to invest the money necessary to make it happen.While a program like the Marshall Plan is widely known, the dollars that were channelled through or- ganizations that involved civil society such as the European Movement are less so. Organizations like the American Committee on United Europe (ACUE) were the bridge between the United States and Europe for US dollars.
