Abstract

The aim of the present study, in the light of recent investigation, is to reflect once more on the role of the inventories of the catalonian complaints, as well as their social function in the resolution of conflicts, and the judicial practices of the 11th century. Taking as an example the use of legal elements in a religious context designed to exercise a specific social pressure, the function of these inventories is examined.
