[cat] En el marc de la commemoració dels 150 anys de la creació del Cercle Literari de Vic, associació cultural fundada a Vic l'any 1860, l'estudi contextualitza la constitució i la trajectòria del Cercle en relació a la complexa dinàmica històrica del període i al seu medi sociològic i cultural, i valora la significació i funcionalitat de l'entitat dins l'entorn que li és propi, un espai que, amb el seu ritme i peculiaritats, es transforma i participa d'un procés de canvi global i accelerat. Al mateix temps, destaca l'esforç i la voluntat modernitzadora d'aquest projecte col·lectiu.
[eng] Within the setting of the commemoration of 150 years since the creation of the Cercle Literari de Vic, the cultural association founded in Vic in 1860, the study contextualises the constitution and history of the Cercle in relation to the complex historical dynamic of the period and its sociological and cultural environment, and assesses the meaning and functionality of the entity within its setting, a space that, with its rhythm and peculiarities, transforms and participates in a process of rapid global change. It also highlights the effort and modernising desire of this group project.
