Estudi experimental de la dinàmica d'un front fluid en un medi desordenat

Abstract

[cat] La imbibició és un procés de transport de fluids immiscibles en un medi desordenat en el qual el fluid que mulla preferentment el medi desplaça el fluid resident. La interfície que separa aquests dos fluids esta sotmesa a una competició de forces que actuen sobre el front a diferentes escales de longitud. Com a resultat es té un sistema fora de l'equilibri que arriba de manera espontània a un estat estadísticament estacionari amb fluctuacions crítiques. En aquesta tesi s'estudia la morfologia i la dinàmica dels fronts d'imbibició des d'un punt de vista experimental.

[eng] Imbibition is a process of fluid transport in a disordered media where the fluid that preferentially wets the media displaces the resident fluid. The interface that separates these two fluids, that are not miscible, is under the action of a competition of forces that act over the front at different length scales. As a result the system is out of equilibrium and reaches spontaneously a statistically stationary state with critical fluctuations. The present thesis studies the morphology and the dynamic of imbibition fronts from an experimental point of view.
