Abstract
We live surrounded by ecosystems made up of a large number of interacting species. In ecological models it is very improbable to obtain the stable coexistence of all these species. To make it possible, we have to consider that ecosystems are only the remaining part of a much larger community after their dynamics has evolved sufficiently. Here we analyze the coexistence of a given number of species that interact randomly according to different prescriptions of current interest
