Noves descobertes a Sant Genís de Rocafort (Martorell). Precedents i distribució del monestir medieval a la llum de la recerca arqueològica, segles IX-XV

[cat] El monestir de Sant Genís de Rocafort (Martorell, Baix Llobregat) ha estat objecte d’intervenció arqueològica des de 2014. Els efectes de l’espoli sistemàtic i de molts segles d’abandonament van acabar ocultant la dimensió de les estructures d’aquest monument, les quals ocupen gairebé la totalitat de l’espai delimitat per una muralla que ressegueix el perímetre del turó, presidit per l’església romànica. Les darreres excavacions han posat al descobert les dependències monàstiques d’època romànica i d’altres elements clarament anteriors. En aquesta contribució, volem presentar les noves descobertes, així com oferir una visió de conjunt de l’estat actual de la recerca.

[eng] The monastery of Sant Genís de Rocafort (Martorell, Baix Llobregat) has been an object of archaeological fieldwork since 2014. The effects of continuous spoliation hided in part the whole dimension of the structures at this monastery behind the simple apparel of a Romanesque church, even though the monastic dependencies occupied the top perimeter of a hill enclosed by a defensive wall. Recent work at this site discovered the Romanesque buildings of the monastery and other earlier elements. This contribution aims at introducing the new findings, and at offering an overview of the current state‑of‑the‑art.
