Abstract
[cat] A partir de la reconstrucció dels baptismes i les defuncions es planteja quina va ser l'evolució demogràfica d'Osona. Es mostra que la comarca va créixer de forma significativa en el segle XVII, que en el segle XVIII el creixement va ser menor del que hom es pensava, que la fecunditat va caure durant la primera meitat del segle XIX i que la mortalitat, en canvi, va ser molt més alta que en altres comarques, especialment la mortalitat d'albats. L'article és una part de la reconstrucció demogràfica de Catalunya entre 1700 i 1860.
[eng] From baptism and death records we can look at the demographic evolution of Osona. The evidence shows that the region grew significantly in the seventeenth century while in the eighteenth century population growth was less than what was once thought. Fertility fell during the first half of the nineteenth century and that mortality was more elevated than in other regions, especially infant mortality. The article forms part of a reconstruction of Catalan demography between 1700 and 1860.
