[cat] L'execució de Francesc Macià àlies Bac de Roda va tenir, en la dialèctica de la guerra, una motivació d'exemplaritat i de revenja per part del bàndol borbònic, però va generar també desitjos de venjança per part del bàndol austriacista, que van influir en les matances del període immediat i que van donar lloc a l'inici de la mitificació del personatge. Alhora, la seva mort va tenir un efecte demolidor en la família, que va haver d'exiliar-se i va veure segrestats els seus béns.
[eng] The execution of Francesc Macià alias Bac de Roda was, in the dialectics of war, a means of showing an example and revenge by the pro-Bourbon side but also produced desires for revenge by the pro-Austrian side which had a bearing on the killings in the immediate period and which led to the beginning of the mythologisation of the character. Additionally, his death had a devastating effect on his family, who had to go into exile and saw all their assets confiscated.
