Aquest treball té el propòsit de fer un estat de la qüestió sobre els Fets de Maig de
1937 que van tenir lloc a Catalunya, però principalment a la ciutat de Barcelona. D’aquests
Fets n’explicarem els antecedents que van originar-los, com es van desenvolupar i les
diferents conseqüències que van allargar-se fins més d’un any després, amb els processos del
POUM. Relatarem els Fets a través de diferents historiadors que han estudiat sobre el tema,
tot passant pel debat historiogràfic que segueix existint avui en dia entre els diferents
corrents. El relat ens aproximarà a un dels grans fets que es produeixen dins la rereguarda
durant la Guerra Civil Espanyola i com aquests esdeveniments modifiquen en molts àmbits la
política republicana en un dels períodes més importants de la història contemporània
espanyola.
This work aims to provide an overview of the Facts of May 1937 these events took place in Catalonia, but primarily in the city of Barcelona. We will explain the background that led to these events, how they developed, and the various consequences that extended more than a year later, with the POUM trials. We will recount the events through different historians who have studied the topic, addressing the historiographical debate that still exists today among the different currents. The account will bring us closer to one of the major events that occurred in rearguard during the Spanish Civil War and how these events significantly altered Republican politics during one of the most important periods in contemporary Spanish history.
