[cat] L’orde de la Companyia de Jesús, fundat l’any 1540 per Ignasi de Loiola, va expandir-se per Europa, Àsia i Amèrica amb l’objectiu d’aconseguir una evangelització universal. Des del seu naixement, els jesuïtes van crear i perfeccionar una xarxa organitzativa que els va permetre coordinar la comunicació a distància entre els col·legis ignasians repartits arreu del món. Aquest Treball de Final de Grau pretén estudiar com, als segles XVI i XVII, la circulació per Europa de la documentació jesuítica provinent de les Índies Orientals (d’oest a est, des de l’Índia fins al Japó; i de nord a sud, des de la Xina fins a les illes Moluques) contribueix en la construcció i propagació de la concepció europea d’aquesta regió de l’Àsia i el Pacífic.
[eng] The clerical order of the Society of Jesus, founded in 1540 by Ignatius of Loyola, spread throughout Europe, Asia and America aiming to achieve world evangelization. From its birth, Jesuits created and perfected an organizational network which allowed them to coordinate long-distance communication between Ignatian schools around the globe. This paper seeks to investigate the ways in which, in the 16th and 17th centuries, the circulation in Europe of Jesuit documentation from the East Indies (from west to east, from India to Japan; and from north to south, from China to the Moluccas) contributes to the construction and propagation of the European conception of this region in Asia and the Pacific.
