Abstract

[eng] Enrique Díez-Canedo is undoubtedly one of the most important figures in the history of translation in the first four decades of the 20th century, both in Spain and in Latin America, and especially with regard to poetic translation, although his work of translation encompasses other genres. This article tries to systematize his ideas about translation, closely related to his translations, for which the latest research on the matter has been taken into account. The ultimate goal is to point out where the success of his method lies and to show to what extent these reflections are still valid for today's translators.
