Abstract

[en] Knowing the date on which you will die has been a question that has been with human thoughts since its inception. Currently, the amount of information that is collected over the course of a year allows a very accurate calculation of the life expectancy of a person who has survived the year in question. However, the constant technological and health innovations of the society imply that these figures vary from year to year. In addition, these variations may occur for specific ages, and may not affect others in any way. In this Bachelor’s Degree Final Project we will apply an interpolation and extrapolation method using metric analysis on functions of multiple variables devised by Dr. Aleksandr Vitalievich Kryanev. Adapted to life expectancy, the method will allow to know the life expectancy of an individual with age $x$ at the year $y$. To do this, we will use the data collected since 1991 by the National Statistics Institute (Spanish: Instituto Nacional de Estadı́stica, IN E). This data are structured in the form of a table, and they give the value of life expectancy according to your age ($x$) and the year in which you are located ($y$).
