Abstract
[spa] En este trabajo se analiza una colección de antigüedades precolombinas del Museo Nacional de Antropología de Madrid, desde su recogida en los Andes centrales (con epicentro en el Perú) por la Comisión del Pacífico, una empresa de exploración enviada al continente americano entre 1862-1865. Se precisan las instrucciones, los puntos y formas de acopio, y su traslado a España. Después, en su destino, las momias, cráneos y objetos se siguen en las exposiciones temporales (1881, 1892-1893) y permanentes de las que formaron parte, por el Museo de Ciencias Naturales, el Museo Antropológico, el Museo Etnológico hasta el actual Museo Nacional de Antropología. Todo un recorrido en el que se mostrarán los cambios de apreciación hacia estos objetos –como parte de las especialidades emergentes de la etnología, la antropología y la arqueología–, los diferentes discursos museológicos de los que formaron parte, y los estudios que se realizaron con estos materiales, con especial atención a su registro y catalogación. Una investigación en perspectiva histórica sobre una colección y su gestión, que culmina con su exposición en una plataforma universal de museos en la red.
[eng] This paper analyzes a collection of pre-Columbian antiquities from the National Museum of Anthropology in Madrid, from its collection in the central Andes (with its epicenter in Peru) by the Pacific Commission, an exploration company sent to the American continent between 1862-1865. The instructions, points and forms of collection, and its transfer to Spain are specified. Later, at their destination, the mummies, skulls and objects are followed in the temporary (1881, 1892-1893) and permanent exhibitions of which they were part, by the Museum of Natural Sciences, the Anthropological Museum, the Ethnological Museum up to the present Anthropology National Museum. A whole journey in which the changes in appreciation towards these objects will be shown –as part of the emerging specialties of ethnology, anthropology and ethnography–, as well as the different museological discourses of which they were part, and the studies that were carried out with these materials, with special attention to records and cataloguing. An investigation in historical perspective on a collection and its management, that culminates with its availability on a universal online platform of museums.
