L’higienisme a Espanya (1833-1923), un estat de la qüestió

Abstract

[cat] El treball exposa l’evolució del tractament historiogràfic de l’higienisme espanyol entre els segles XIX i XX, des de la dècada de 1960 fins a l’actualitat. Per fer-ho, el treball s’estructura en les temàtiques principals que ha estudiat l’higienisme, per tal d’extreure’n les principals tesis, debats i altres consideracions que ha fet la historiografia. Es veurà com l’higienisme s’entén com un producte de la revolució industrial, el qual pretenia solucionar, o pal·liar, les seves conseqüències més nefastes, amb l’objectiu únic de mantenir el sistema i controlar les classes populars. A partir d’aquesta tesi, però, es poden analitzar des de múltiples perspectives les eines, els grups socials, les mesures i les principals tesis esgrimides per aconseguir aquest fi.

[eng]This paper presents the evolution of the treatment of the historiography on the Spanish hygienic movement between the 19th and 20th centuries, since the decade of 1960 until the present day. The structure of this paper is based on the main topics which have studied the hygienic movement to extract the main thesis, discussions, and other historiographic considerations. It will be noticed that the hygienic movement is understood as a product of the industrial revolution that aimed to solve, or mitigate, its worst consequences, with the only objective of maintaining the system and controlling the lower classes. Based on this thesis, the tools, social groups, measures and theses used to achieve this objective can be analysed from multiple perspectives.
