[spa[ Este trabajo es un análisis sobre los fenómenos de la piratería y el corso en los siglos XVII – XVIII, centrándose sobre todo en la piratería. El objetivo es dar a conocer cuál era la forma de vida de este grupo social, así como sus características, y exponer tanto los motivos de las distintas etapas cronológicas como las actuaciones más significativas que llevaron a cabo.
[eng] This paper is an analysis about phenomenon of piracy and privateering in seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, focusing on piracy. The purpose is to make know the way of living of this social group, as well as their characteristics, and to expose both the reasons of the different chronologic periods and the most important operations they conducted.
