Black Sails: La Edad de Oro de la piratería en el Caribe

Abstract

[spa] La Edad de oro de la piratería (1650-1726) es uno de los periodos más importantes en la historia marítima del Caribe. Este trabajo se basa en un recorrido de las principales islas y asentamientos en las que convivieron piratas, bucaneros, corsarios y filibusteros; junto a los imperios europeos como fueron España, Inglaterra, Francia y Holanda. Un viaje, en el cual, veremos cómo se propagará ese anhelado sueño de libertad; oponiéndose a los imperios europeos hasta el punto de ponerlos en peligro, paralizando el comercio naval en el Atlántico. Se tendrá presente a los personajes históricos más importantes de este auge de la piratería. Comenzando por los bucaneros y filibusteros más famosos hasta los más afamados piratas y corsarios de esta era. A su vez veremos cómo se formaron dos de los asentamientos piratas más importantes en el Caribe, como fueron Isla Tortuga y Nassau.

[eng] The Golden Age of Piracy (1650-1726) is one of the most important periods in maritime history of the Caribbean. This work is based on a tour of the main islands and settlements in which pirates, buccaneers, corsairs and filibusters lived together. Together with European empires such as Spain, England, France and Holland. A journey, in which we will see how that longed dream of freedom will spread; opposing the European empires to the point of putting them in danger, paralyzing the naval trade in the Atlantic. In addition, I will keep in mind the most important historical figures, of this heyday of piracy. Starting with the most famous buccaneers and freebooters to the most infamous pirates and corsairs of this era. In turn we will see how two of the most important pirate settlements in the Caribbean were formed, such as the cases Tortuga Island and Nassau.
