[spa] La presente investigación analiza el fenómeno del incremento del ciclismo urbano en Lima Metropolitana durante la pandemia del Covid-19, con la finalidad de identificar lineamientos que permitan la promoción del ciclismo urbano como parte de un sistema de movilidad sostenible.
Para ello se identificaron y analizaron las medidas implementadas por el gobierno durante la pandemia relativas a la movilidad, así como las iniciativas a nivel municipal que permitieron la promoción del uso de la bicicleta. Los resultados de dicho análisis, y de la realización de entrevistas a una serie de actores involucrados en la materia, permitieron identificar que la principal causa de la proliferación de nuevos ciclistas en Lima fueron las medidas de restricción de la movilidad dictadas durante la emergencia sanitaria, en particular las que prohibían el uso de vehículos particulares (automóviles), así como el miedo a los contagios en uno de los países más afectados a nivel mundial.
Este fenómeno logró ser acompañado por una acertada participación de la Municipalidad de Lima, que en conjunto ha permitido que el número de usuarios se haya incrementado en casi 10 veces en tan solo un año.
[eng] The present research analyses the phenomenon of the increase in urban cycling in the Lima metropolitan area during the Covid-19 pandemic, in order to identify guidelines that allow the promotion of urban cycling as part of a sustainable mobility system. For this, the measures implemented by the government during the pandemic related to mobility were identified and analyzed, as well as the initiatives at the municipal level that allowed the promotion of bicycle use. The results of this analysis, and of interviews with a series of actors involved in the matter, allowed identifying that the main cause of the proliferation of new cyclists in Lima was the mobility restriction measures dictated during the health emergency, in particular those that prohibited the use of private vehicles (cars), as well as the fear of contagion in one of the most affected countries worldwide. This phenomenon was accompanied by a successful participation of the Municipality of Lima, which together has allowed the number of users to have increased by almost 10 times in just one year.
