L’assignació de gènere gramatical en una mostra de manlleus incorporats al català

Abstract

Els manlleus incorporats al català més o menys recentment adopten un gènere gramatical masculí o femení, o tots dos, en funció d’un seguit de factors com ara l’estructura fonològica del manlleu, el gènere de l’equivalent en català del manlleu, el gènere del mot genèric al qual s’associa, etc. En aquest treball s’analitza quin gènere adopten i es determina quins factors hi influeixen i amb quin grau, mitjançant dos tipus d’enquestes: una de percepció i una de producció.

Loanwords incorporated into Catalan more or less recently adopt a masculine or feminine grammatical gender, or both, depending on a series of factors, such as the phonological shape of the loan, the gender of the equivalent word in Catalan, the gender of the generic word to which is associated, etc. This paper analyses which genre loanwords adopt and tries to determine which factors are involved in this selections and to what degree, by means of two types of experimental surveys: one of perception and one of production.
