[cat] Els estudis arqueològics han anat acompanyats sovint per referències gràfiques que facilitaven l’enteniment d’allò que volia ser interpretat i explicat. Aquestes il·lustracions, però, presenten un gran procés de recerca i investigació al seu darrere, convertint-se l’il·lustrador en historiador. Tot i això, aquest procés sol quedar amagat rere la il·lustració artística, sent invisible davant els ulls del públic.
En el següent treball resoldrem un seguit de qüestions que ens facilitaran l’enteniment d’aquest procés de recerca: què volem representar? En quin context històric ens trobem? Quines tècniques arquitectòniques s’utilitzaven? A quina materials es tenia accés? Com es vestia la població? Quines eines s’utilitzaven? Totes aquestes són qüestions necessàries a ser resoltes, ja permetran la recollida d’informació necessària per poder dur a terme una il·lustració arqueològica el més objectiva a la realitat possible, en el nostre cas, la il·lustració del poblat medieval de Revenga.
[eng] Archaeological studies have often been accompanied by graphic references that made it easier to understand what was meant to be interpreted and explained. However, the making of this illustrations present a huge amount of work and investigation previous to the final result. However, this process is often hidden behind the artistic illustration, being invisible to the public. In the following essay we will solve a series of questions that will help us understand the process of the illustration research: what is that we want to represent? In what historical context are we located? Which kind of architectural techniques were known at the moment and which materials were often used and why? How did the population dress? What was the environment like around the village? All of these questions need to be addressed in order to gather the information we need to carry out, as objectively as it’s possible, an archaeological illustration, in our case, the illustration of Revenga’s medieval village.
