[cat] Aquest treball pretén fer una lectura atenta de Desirada, de Maryse Condé des dels estudis sobre la memòria i el trauma en la literatura. Partint del concepte souvenir imaginaire analitzarem les conseqüències ètiques i estètiques davant la voluntat de representar una experiència traumàtica elusiva. Per aconseguir-ho, analitzarem els efectes d’aquests orígens problemàtics en la identitat hermenèutica de la protagonista gràcies a la noció d’identitat narrativa de P. Ricoeur, la noció d’H. Arendt del discurs com a acció i els estudis sobre la postmemòria de M. Hirsch. A mesura que examinem diversos fragments del text, intentarem descabdellar la complexa i ambigua relació entre memòria, imaginació i trauma, imbricades per la crisi del testimoni i uns orígens perduts que, tanmateix, no impedeixen respondre del tot la difícil pregunta: qui soc jo?
[eng] This paper intends to read Desirada, by Maryse Condé, through the studies on memory and trauma in literature. Thanks to the concept souvenir imaginaire we will approach the ethic and aesthetic consequences of representing an elusive traumatic experience. In order to do so, we will analyse the effects that these problematic origins have on the main character’s hermeneutic identity, through P. Ricoeur’s notion on narrative identity, H. Arendt’s view on language as action and M. Hirsch conception of postmemory. Throughout the text, we will try to unravel the complex and imbricated relationship between memory, imagination, and trauma, blurred by an evident witnessing crisis and unreachable origins such as the narrated that, in last term, do not prevent the characters from having an ultimate answer to the question: who am I?
