Abstract

[spa] (Re)invención propone una relectura del archivo colonial que permita trazar conexiones entre la colonización y el fenómeno migratorio. A través del arquetipo del Explorador y utilizando un prisma decolonial, se estudia la importancia de los relatos, crónicas e imágenes en la construcción de imaginarios coloniales, así como su persistencia en la narrativa contemporánea del migrante y del Otro. ¿Cómo se narraba el Nuevo Mundo en los primeros años de la conquista y cómo influyen esas representaciones en la forma en que se narra la experiencia migratoria actual? ¿Qué estereotipos y arquetipos persisten en la narrativa sobre el migrante y cómose pueden subvertir para construir un imaginario migrante poscolonial? A partir de la lectura de documentos históricos desde una perspectiva migrante y decolonial, se busca subvertir y reapropiar las narrativas que han conformado nuestro presente desde una perspectiva artística, para crear objetos sensibles que puedan convertirse en símbolos de un nuevo futuro.

[eng] (Re)invention embarks on an alternative reading of the colonial archive in order to find connections between the colonial project and contemporary migration. Through the use of the Explorer archetype and a decolonial lens, the project studies the role of the stories, chronicles and images created during this period in the construction of colonial imaginaries, as well as their persistence in contemporary narratives about the migrant and the Other. How was the New World told in the first years of the conquest and how did these representations influence the way in which the current migratory experience is narrated? What stereotypes and archetypes persist in the migrant narrative and how can they be subverted to build a postcolonial migrant imaginary? Through the study of historical documents from a migrant and decolonial perspective, the project seeks to subvert and reappropriate the narratives that have shaped our present from an artistic perspective in order to create sensitive objects that can become symbols of a new future.
