[spa] La presente investigación tiene por objetivo sintetizar y exponer el concepto de lo trágico según
el pensamiento del poeta Friedrich Hölderlin. Entendido como condensación del problema
nodal de la era moderna, la escisión entre subjetividad y objetividad, lo trágico se expresa
como la distancia entre la voluntad transformadora de la sociedad por medio del arte
poético y su posibilidad efectiva. Este problema se estudia pormenorizadamente para el caso
de la tragedia La muerte de Empédocles. Así, teoría y práctica artística en Hölderlin se demuestran
coherentes respecto del problema de lo trágico, y señalan hacia una temprana crítica
de la modernidad capitalista desde la conciencia de la escisión que le es inherente.
[eng] The aim of the present research is to synthesize and discuss the concept of the tragic according to Friedrich Hölderlin’s thought. The tragic is understood as a metaphor for the essential problem of the modern era, the division between subjectivity and objectivity, and it is expressed as the struggle between the will of social transformation through art and its effective possibility. This issue is studied in detail for the case of the tragedy The Death of Empedocles. Thus, Hölderlin’s artistic theory and practice is proven to be coherent with respect to the subject of the tragic, pointing towards an early critique of capitalist modern era.
